FAVORITE FAMILY CHILIBrown: 1 pound hamburger (salt and pepper added) In large casserole place: 1 can kidney beans Rinse out cans generously with water and add to the mixture. Add: 1/2 c. catsup (more or less) (If your kids are like mine-pepper and onion haters, here's a hint. Cut them coarsely in a blender, cover with water and chop. Drain (or pour water and all into chili) and then add to chili mixture. You'll have the benefit of the flavour, but not the "hunks.") Bake in slow oven, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours Serve over boiled rice or with buns. |

SUNSHINE SLAWChop cabbage finely. Add: Pineapple tidbits Place in serving dish and sprinkle with a little paprika. Good and can be prepared a bit ahead. If you have a blender, chop the cabbage coarsely with it. Cover with cold water and chop a few seconds. Drain into a sieve. Other ingredients may be mixed in the sieve as well. If you don't wish to keep the pineapple juice for another purpose, pour it over the cabbage. Gives a nice flavour. |
