The Alliance Church 1957-1966

In his first Annual Report to the membership of the Alliance Church in Saskatoon, Rev. Walter Boldt states, "In perusing the annual reports over the last twelve years, I have been impressed with the evident blessing of God upon the Alliance Church. My prayer is that the Head of the Church may grant us even greater blessings in the years that lie ahead."

As we read through the reports over the next nineteen years, Walter Boldt's prayer seems to be progressively answered. When he started in 1960, he was the only paid staff. He saw the need for others to join the ministry. Many gifted men and women who were willing to serve joined his staff over the years.

"Songs In the Night" was broadcast Sunday evenings on CFQC radio. This recording is from May 1, 1966 after the dedication of the expansion to University Drive Alliance Church.

The "Songs In the Night" program includes:

During this time, the Sunday School grew dramatically under the leadership of E.F. Janzen, Menno Dirks and Alex Shakotko. It became obvious that more class room space was needed, so in 1966 an adddition was added to the church to increase it's capacity.
